Healthy Watersheds a Key Component of Alberta’s Flood-resilient Future

Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development’s (ESRD) Watershed Resiliency and Restoration Program (WRRP) aims to improve natural watershed functions in order to build greater long-term resiliency to droughts and floods through restoration, conservation, education and stewardship, and research and data.

WRRP will provide grants to: First Nations; Local authorities; Municipalities; Non-governmental organizations; Stewardship groups and other not-for-profit organizations. WRRP funding is limited to non-structural mitigation efforts that promote the long-term ability of watersheds to mitigate the effects of future flood and drought events.
